I used WD...Im using this mouse since ~14 years now. I used WD40 a few times in the switches and since more than 10 years I have not had any problem with the switches.<br /><br />It seems WD-40 was a permanent fix.<br /><br />As for the wire, mine completely disintegrated, however I was able to buy a really cheap non-gaming a4tech mouse (which was a lookalike of this mouse) for equivalent of US$3. The cable from that mouse fit exactly. <br /><br />Since then the mouse works OK.
